BIO
 Writing History...
I took on the role of poet back in 1987. It all started with a few love letters to my high school
sweetheart. Soon the letters I wrote became poems. Everytime I got the urge to write
something it had to be poetic. I have written poems and stories on such topics as love,
and the broken hearted, including the good times, bad times and loneliness.

Since 2008, I have penned a few rather violent/angry pieces...all imagination of course.
And a couple of abusive pieces, which required me to live vicariously thru the victims.
Everyone can relate to at least one of my pieces. Being able to write the violent/angry
and abusive pieces is a testiment that I have grown as a poet. The fact that I can write
someone's else story has shown great depth in my writing. I strive to be a versatile poet
and writer, and I am well on my way. Over the years, my passion for writing has continued
to grow. It's not over you see, 'cause I know I got more in me.

 Performance...
I've done numerous of live performances, open mics and contests. My early performances
include a church event, and a weekly open mic on a college campus. I made a name for
myself by performing regularly at weekly open mic venues in Lancaster and Palmdale,
 California.

My next main venues became, Spoken Funk and Da Poetry Lounge. Two of the best poetry
and spoken word spots in the Los Angeles & Hollywood areas. Da Poetry Lounge is an
"anything goes" venue. On the other hand, Spoken Funk is a "no profanity" venue. I had the
best of both worlds for the years that I performed at both establishments. Spoken Funk has
closed its' doors, but every so often I return to Da Poetry Lounge stage. Home sweet home.

My next accomplishment was San Diego, California. the place I currently call home.
I've had the pleasure of performing at, Train of Thought, a very popular open mic venue
in downtown San Diego. After that I met Michele, the owner of PoeticWorks. PoeticWorks is
an online community with currently over 500 members. PoeticWorks is a multifunctional
establishment, but it caters mostly to poets and spoken word artists. For more info, please
 visit PoeticWorks.

I was right by Michele's side when she started an open mic event at, The Metaphor Cafe.
I enjoyed performing at the cafe. A nice comftable venue. I even had the pleasure of
meeting some of the other PoeticWorks' members. In San Diego I performed my first
feature as a poet. I got the opportunity due to a recommendation from Michele.
 Thank you very much, Michele!

Our next poetry home venue was, Azafran, a cuban restaurant in Oceanside, California.
Weekly we performed up close and personal for the audience...this restaurant does not
have a stage. I prefer having the floor as stage anyway, because I can interact with the
audience more and it is obvious they can hear me. It was proven time and time again the
performers and the audience love the intimate setup. Azafran is where I eased into
hosting. I learned from Michele, she's a great host. Again I had the pleasure of meeting
more members of the PW online community.

The next venue we called home was, 3D Espresso Bar & Lounge, located in Vista, California.
Yet again, another great location and venue. A bit smaller than the previous venues, but
that was ok cause it added a sense of closeness. I am very comfortable performing in close
quarters. Especially if i can feel the good vibes in the crowd, I'm almost guaranteed to
deliver a flawless set. Some nights at 3D, I pulled a double shift...host or co-host and
performer. And I enjoyed every moment.

Our shows as a whole and individual performances has improved per venue we called
home. The second was better than the first and the third was better than the second.
Just as it should be. The goal is to inspire, be inspired, and make improvements where
needed. We have accomplished all 3 missions.

At this time, I do not have a poetry home. But dont fret, I'm not sitting by idly. I am
still dating my pen, and we are happy. So, what's next for this, Poet Extraordinair &
Spoken Word Artist? Check this site regularly so u can stay updated on the lastest and
greatest. U never know when the next BREAKING NEWS will be.

 Inspirations...
Inspiration is everywhere. Love is a big source of inspiration for me. During an open mic
session, I was inspired to write, The Heart of A Lonely Man, a ditty about the lonely hearted
yearning for love. When I Think of U was inspired by, "Cynamon". Thank you and 1LOVE.

Other inspirations for me include some of the performers on, Russell Simmons' Def Poetry,
Jill Scott, Smokey Robinson [both are poets too], Sade, Pattie Labelle, and The Artist once
 again known as, Prince.

I'm also filled with inspiration [and hope] from the incomparable, Dr. Maya Angelou and
the profound speeches of the late, great, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Life itself is an immeasurable source of inspiration. If u 'act' as a 'receiver' in ur life,
you are certain to receive inspiration from somewhere, something, or someone.
 In other words...

"KEEP AN OPEN MIND AND INSPIRATION WILL COME TO YOU"
~1LOVE
